About Us
Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing of Quick Lime (CaO) at Vigyan Lime follows a controlled and scientific process to ensure high purity, high reactivity, and consistent quality.
1. High-Quality Limestone Selection
We begin by selecting high-purity limestone from trusted mines in Uttarakhand. Only limestone with the right chemical composition (high CaCO₃ content) is chosen to ensure the best-quality Quick Lime.
3. Calcination in Lime Kiln
The selected limestone is fed into modern kilns and heated at 900–1000°C. At this temperature, limestone (Calcium Carbonate) undergoes thermal decomposition:
5. Grading & Processing
The cooled Quick Lime is then graded into: Quick Lime Lumps Quick Lime Powder High Reactivity Quick Lime Additional grinding and screening are done to achieve the customer’s required specifications.
2. Crushing & Sizing
The limestone is crushed and screened into specific sizes. Proper sizing is important because it affects how evenly the stone heats inside the kiln.
4. Cooling
After calcination, the hot Quick Lime is carefully cooled under controlled conditions to maintain its reactivity and prevent moisture absorption.

Each batch is tested in our in-house laboratory for:
